Cocker care

Another way to stimulate them is by having them interact with dog toys.

The Cocker Spaniel's coat should be brushed two or three times a week. To improve its appearance, the hair should be trimmed around the face, ears, tail, and paws approximately every two months.

Ears need special attention, as they are prone to developing problems if accumulated dirt is not removed. When the dog is eating, the ears should be pulled back to prevent food from sticking to the hair. Also, monitor their diet, as they tend to gain weight easily.

How many types of Cocker are there?

In general, the expression of these dogs is soft, and the outline of the head is rounded with no abrupt angles.

Its coat is shorter and less abundant than the American Cocker's, facilitating movement in the field. It is smooth and silky with many fringes on the front legs, and comes in a multitude of colors and patterns: solid black, red, orange, and brown, combinations of black with white, brown with white, red and white, blue roan, orange roan and black, parti-colors, and also tri-colors. 

Regarding size and weight, adult males measure approximately between 39 and 41 cm and females, between 38 and 39 cm. Their weight is estimated between 13 and 14.5 kg.

American

The American Cocker Spaniel is smaller and more compact. It has a longer and denser coat, especially around the legs, chest, and ears, which gives it a more elegant and sophisticated appearance. This type of American Cocker Spaniel is more often seen in show competitions due to its beauty and grace. They are equally friendly and affectionate, although they can be a bit more reserved than English Cocker Spaniels.
